UNDERSTANDING PATHWAYS TO SANCTIFICATION – Part 1

God has a stake in our lives, He wants us to live a holy life for His name’s sake! You won't lack any good thing in this life and that to come when you walk in sanctification – Hebrew 12:13–15.

  • The way of righteousness is narrow – Matthew 7:13–14, 1 Corinthians 6:9–11.
  • Sanctification is the will of God – 1 Thessalonians 4:3.
  • God will not give you something that you don't have the capacity to handle – 1 Peter 1:16, Matthew 5:8.
  • Sanctification is a choice and not a gift – Deuteronomy 30:19.

THE COSTS OF UNGODLINESS

  • To experience the second death, which is an eternity in hell is the greatest fear of most believers.
  1. It blocks access to God in times of trouble – Psalm 89:19, Isaiah 38:1.
  2. It destroys destiny – Acts 12:21–24. Anyone that is stubborn is proud! And God resists the proud – James 4:6, 1 Kings 21:21, 1 Timothy 6:10, Joshua 7:21–27.
  3. It blocks access to divine secrets – Psalm 25:14, Job 29:4. The secrets of God are what makes a man stand out in career and business! – Daniel 1:8.

PLEASE KNOW THAT:

  • God will never hold our past sins against us – God will not forgive your sins if you don't ask for mercy and repent – Proverbs 28:13.

 

BENEFITS OF SANCTIFICATION

  1. It secures access to our inheritances in Christ – Obadiah 1:17, Acts 20:32
  2. It enhances answers to our prayers – Psalm 66:18–20. God doesn't require anybody's permission to forgive you!
  3. It procures divine health – Mark 2:1–12.

PATHWAYS TO SANCTIFICATION

  1. You must take a decision to live a sanctified life – Daniel 1:8. Your choice determines your lot! – Daniel 3:17.
  2. You must watch and pray to stay sanctified – Matthew 26:41. You can overcome the weakness of the flesh on the altar of prayer – Luke 22:31–32, 18:1, Zechariah 3:1, Luke 9:29, 1 Peter 5:8, 1 Corinthians 10:12. The act of praying is a defense against the assault of sin!
  3. You must continue to engage the cleansing power of the Word – Psalm 119:9–11. Be committed to taking daily showers in the word (the Bible likens the Word to water) – Ephesians 5:26, Hebrews 3:13.
