PUTTING UP A FIGHT AGAINST THE FORCES OF UNGODLINESS – PART 1
The battle against sin is the fiercest of all spiritual battles in a believer’s life, which every believer must fight and win. Eternal life is under contention by forces that want to rob us to live a normal, average life.
- Refusal to put up a fight will make you end up as a loser.
- Eternal life is a life void of human degradation. It is above the products of the fallen man (sicknesses, stagnation, sorrow).
- It means the God kind of life, the supernatural life. But for you to experience it, you must fight!
- Godliness is the only spiritual battle that is not just profitable for now, but also profitable for eternity! – Hebrews 12:1-4.
- God never designed hell for man, He designed it for the devil and his agents. And anyone that refuses to fight this battle has unconsciously decided to join the devil in hell – Matthew 11:12, Ephesians 6:10-12.
THE EVIL SPIRITS BEHIND SIN
- Unclean spirits that make men do filthy and dirty things in the sight of God – Matthew 10:1, 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10, Zechariah 3:3-5. You cannot afford to be spiritually empty – Matthew 12:43-45.
- Seducing spirits – These are spirits that tend to lead people astray and away from the truth (Doctrines of devils) – 1 Timothy 4:1-2. You need to be grounded in the Word so as not to fall for this spirit!
BIBLICAL STEPS TO LIVING A SANCTIFIED LIFE
- Make a resolve to live a sanctified life – Daniel 1:8, Revelation 3:20. God will not impose a sanctified life upon you, you have to make the decision!
- Flee from the traps of sin – Genesis 39:7-12.
- Repentance – The covenant pathway to living a sanctified life. Repentance that is validated with works!
